MARLBOROUGH, MA - January 19, 2005 – NHC Group, Inc. (NHC), a privately held operator of online career sites, today announced that it has completed the acquisition of the SeniorJobBank. All SeniorJobBank operations will soon be relocated from Florida to NHC’s facility in Marlborough. The SeniorJobBank is an online career portal serving the over-50 talent pool. NHC will operate the entity along with its stable of other niche career sites that it owns or manages. “This opportunity is particularly exciting because SeniorJobBank represents a segment of job seekers that is both growing and currently under-served by the employment services sector,” said Gene Burnard, President of NHC. “We can now offer our specialized services directly to the fastest-growing segment of the workforce.” According to the U.S. Department of Labor, Bureau of Labor Statistics, by the end of this decade, a full 20% of the workforce will be made up of workers age 55 and older. In 2002, the total workforce increased by 720,000 workers with men and women age 55 and older accounting for virtually all of that increase. Two leading organizations, the NIH National Institute on Aging and the AARP, both recognize and are addressing issues related to these changes in the composition of the U.S. workforce. Over the next several months, NHC will expand and improve the career services provided by the SeniorJobBank. Plans include the deployment of staff dedicated to each state. Its founder, Eric Summers, originally conceived the Senior Job Bank in 1975. His goal was to advocate for, and assist, the over-50 workforce in finding employment. Prior to its online presence in 2000 as SeniorJobBank.org, it was a manual operation. According to Mr. Summers, “My dream was a service that helps older workers and employers to connect”. “With the acquisition by NHC, the SeniorJobBank will be able to accelerate its growth and provide additional services”. About NHC Group, Inc. Since its inception in 1998, NHC has provided services that allow companies and organizations to offer their own online job posting capability. NHC also owns and operates several niche job-posting networks serving biotech/life sciences, water utilities and human resources.
